PU marks World Food Safety Day

LAHORE: (Tuesday, June 7, 2022): Punjab University Department of Food Sciences in collaboration with Nestle Pakistan, PCSIR, Punjab Food Authority and NAFS has organized a national seminar to mark World Food Safety Day at Al Raazi Hall here on Tuesday. On this occasion, Director General Punjab Food Authority Shoaib Khan Jadoon, Chairman Department of Food Sciences Punjab University Dr Shinawar Waseem, Ms Samreen Sahar from Nestle Pakistan, faculty members and a large number of students. The speakers elaborated on the importance of a balanced diet. "We need to change our eating habits to stay healthy," they added. The speakers said that creating awareness among the people about the quality of food was a matter of urgency. They said that there was a need to implement relevant laws regarding food safety. Moreover, various stalls of delicious and healthy food items were also set up.
