PU, CWSA to work for social welfare


LAHORE: (Friday, June 18, 2021): Punjab University and Community World Service Asia have signed a memorandum of understanding to facilitate collaborative initiatives for provision of skill and well informed individuals to the social sector to eliminate inequalities and lead peaceful, dignified and resilient lives. The agreement was signed at PU Vice Chancellor’s office in which PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmed, Head of External Affairs CWSA Brig (r) Tariq Aslam, Chairperson Department of Social Work Prof Dr Syeda Mahnaz Hassan, Director External Linkages Dr Sobia Khuram and othrs participated in the event. Both the institutions would work for planning, learning, development and expansion which includes capacity enhancement, training, curriculum revision/development, institutional development, academic information sharing and knowledge exchange. Both the institutions would collaborate on constant interaction of development practitioners and humanitarian professionals with academics as guest speakers or visiting faculty. The MoU is also aimed at enabling academia to integrate skill-based knowledge and to reflect the current dynamics of the sector into the existing program.
