PU initiates action against IJT activists involved in vandalism


LAHORE: (Friday, December 6, 2024): The Punjab University administration has initiated disciplinary action against activists of Islami Jamiat Talba for their involvement in vandalism following an unfortunate death of a student at Sheikh Zayed Hospital. According to the PU spokesman, the university administration has identified 11 IJT activists involved in the attack at various places with the help of eyewitnesses and footages while the process of identifying 30 unknown IJT activists is underway. He said that a letter has also been sent to the disciplinary committee for legal action against the involved miscreants. He said that IJT is spreading false propaganda by presenting the allegation mentioned in the application for registration of FIR as a matter of fact or the result of investigation. He said that as per applicant’s stance and contents of the FIR, the mentioning of PC Dhaba is clearly based on hearsay, which is yet to be investigated. The spokesperson said that the IJT had falsely alleged that motorcyclists opened fire on the student. He said that IJT had lied about the death of the student. He said that the IJT had tried to damage the reputation of the university by spreading rumors. He said that the university administration would take action against the students involved in the incident without any pressure and without discrimination. He said that the university administration would ensure a peaceful environment in the university at all costs. He said that hooliganism on the campus would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
