Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen Addresses Islamic University, Kushtia, Bangladesh

Kushtia, Bangladesh: As part of a lecture series organized by the Pakistan High Commission, Dhaka, Prof. Dr. Baseera Ambreen delivered a thought-provoking talk titled "Allama Iqbal's Concept of Selfhood and its Relevance for the New Generation in the 21st Century" at Islamic University, Kushtia. The event was held at the Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman Auditorium on Monday at 11:00 AM.

Her lecture focused on Allama Iqbal's philosophical thought regarding selfhood and its importance for youth awakening, emphasizing their central role in the rise and progress of nations, particularly in today's era of rapid social and technological transformation. Faculty members and students engaged actively with the themes presented, showing keen interest in Iqbal's message for the youth.

Prof. Dr. Waheed ur Rahman presented a keynote speech on "Allama Iqbal's Symbol of Shaheen and its Importance for the Young Generation". The Vice Chancellor of Kushtia University, Prof. Dr. Nakib Muhammad Nasrullah, addressed the seminar as the chief guest, encouraging the youth to empower themselves with Iqbal's motivational poetry.

Other dignitaries present included Prof. Dr. M Yeaqub Ali (Pro-Vice-Chancellor), Prof. Dr. Jahangir Alam (Treasurer), and Prof. Dr. Amtaz Hossain (Arts Faculty Dean). Prof. Dr. M Abdus Salam, Chairman of the Arabic Language and Literature Department, chaired the event, while Prof. Dr. Tozammel Hossain , Convener of the seminar implementation committee, delivered welcome address.

Over 100 teachers and students of different departments participated in the seminar, organized by the IU Arabic Language and Literature Department, IU Kushtia, Bangladesh.

On this occasion, Dr. Baseera Ambreen also presented a book on Allama Iqbal to the VC IU,Kushtia on behalf of Pakistan High Commission which was compiled with her scholarly and literary contribution. The book has been published under the auspices of the Pakistan High Commission for Dhaka and is beautifully printed. It is written in both Urdu and Bangla languages.

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Naqeeb Muhammad Nasrullah, Vice Chancellor of Kushtia University, also arranged a visit to the residence of Rabindranath Tagore located in Khorshidpur, where Tagore spent part of his life. The guests were taken on a tour of the premises.
