LAHORE: (Friday, November 28, 2025): The Punjab University Academic Staff Association (PUASA) organized its annual Sports Gala here on Friday. The opening ceremony was attended by PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali, ASA President Dr Amjad Abbas Magsi, Secretary Dr Muhammad Islam, Chief Organizer Dr Aamir Masood Chishti, faculty members, and their families. In his address, PU VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali said that there should be more extracurricular activities for teachers. He said that he would even arrange recreational activities for teachers from his personal expenses. He stated that teachers are agents of change who bring positive transformations in society. He added that constructive activities for teachers will help in nation-building, and that a healthy teacher plays an important role in producing excellent students. Dr Amjad Magsi said that the purpose of organizing the sports event is to provide teachers with a healthy activity. He added that along with research and teaching, sports are also essential for teachers. During the ceremony, the VC and faculty members participated in badminton, table tennis, tug of war, and other competitions. Free food stalls were also set up for teachers and their families at the Sports Gala.
