Peradeniya, Feb 11, 2026 – Prof Dr Rafia Rafique met Vice Chancellor Prof. Terrence Madhujith, accompanied by HOD Psychology department Prof Asanka Bulathwatta, and exchange host Dr Kanthi Jayasinghe today to discuss activities for her visit under the HEC Pakistan faculty exchange.

Following Objectives of the Visit were discussed with the worthy Vice Chancellor: Meetings and discussions with faculty on journal publications; collaborative academic activities; delivering a lecture for university faculty and students on “Faculty and Student Mental Health: Strategies for Thriving”; sharing input on curriculum development; student lectures on topic’s including multicultural counseling; meeting on-campus student counsellors to discuss growing student mental health issues across Pakistan and Sri Lanka, bullying and its precipitating factors in both countries, and strategies adopted by counsellors in Pakistan; meeting faculty to explore current psychology research trends; assessing feasibility for a student exchange program; exploring online teaching by faculty of psychology in both departments and discussing psychology accreditation processes and steps in both countries.
