LAHORE: (Friday, February 14, 2025): Lahore College for Women University have clinched gold medal in All Pakistan HEC Intervarsity Women Football Championship organized here at Punjab University, New Campus. Punjab University Directorate of Sports in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan has organized the closing ceremony of the All Pakistan HEC Intervarsity Women Football Championship here on Friday. On this occasion, Director General Sports HEC Javed Memon, PU Director Sports Dr Shabbir Sarwar, newly elected Treasure of PU ASA Amir Masood Chishti, faculty members and a large number of students were present. The Punjab University Women Football team has won silver medal in the final against LCWU with the margin of one goal. While, Last year PU Team obtained third position. In his address, Javed Memon congratulated the winning teams. He said that PU Sports Department under the supervision of Dr Shabbir Sarwar managed all the games in efficient manners. He said that HEC will continue to play its role for the promotion of sports among Pakistani Universities. Dr Muhammad Shabbir Sarwar thanked Chairman HEC, DG Sports Javed Memon for their all-out support. He also congratulated the winning teams. He said that PU sports department is taking initiatives to promote sports activities among the students. He said that teams from all Pakistan’s universities participated in the event.
